HMPPS Band 7 - Systems & Digitalisation Manager
Directorate: Directorate of Security - RaCU
Post Type / Duration: Loan/Secondment/Fixed Term – 2 years.
We’re looking for a forward-thinking Systems and Digitalisation Manager to join the Personnel Security Countermeasures (PSC) Team on a two-year posting to lead the design and delivery of digital projects across the team. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives on improving how people, processes, and technology come together.
You’ll take ownership of our digital roadmap - from introducing new systems and tools, to connecting and optimising existing platforms. You’ll identify opportunities for automation, improved data flow, and better user experience across our assurance, policy, and vetting operations. Working with digital, data, and commercial colleagues across HMPPS, the Ministry of Justice and wider government, you’ll help shape how we use emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to streamline processes and strengthen decision-making.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You’ll lead projects that modernise how we work, champion digital best practice, and ensure solutions are secure, efficient, and user-centred. You’ll translate business needs into technical requirements, oversee implementation and testing, and measure impact to ensure value for money and continuous improvement.
We’re looking for someone with a strong track record in digital delivery, whether that’s systems integration, process automation, data management, or platform development. You’ll combine technical awareness with excellent communication and stakeholder skills, helping teams embrace change and adopt new ways of working.
If you’re excited by the opportunity to shape a modern, digitally-enabled security function and to bring innovation, insight, and impact to how we protect people and information we’d love to hear from you.
