The Role:
As a Metrology Engineer, you will support accredited calibrations for both new and existing products. You’ll work closely with a team of engineers and metrologists to ensure measurement systems deliver accurate, reliable, and consistent results. This role contributes to ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, calibration process improvement, and technical support for internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support accredited calibrations and review measurement system results.
• Develop and perform calibration methods under guidance from senior metrologists.
• Conduct uncertainty analyses and maintain statistical process controls.
• Maintain documentation and compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 quality standards.
• Assist with design and improvement of automated test and measurement systems.
• Provide technical support to colleagues and customers.
• Drive continuous improvement of calibration processes and quality systems.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in metrology or calibration within an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory.
• Knowledge of programming for test automation or data analysis (e.g., MET/CAL, C#, VB, Java, Python).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.
