Neway have a vacancy for a Shared Service Manager in Council Tax (Revenues & Benefits) to join our client based with East Hertfordshire District Council
Role Details
Start Date: 24 November 2025
Duration: 14 Weeks
Hours: 37 per week
Location: Wallfields, Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG13 8EQ, United Kingdom
Pay Rates
PAYE: £28.82 per hour
Limited/Umbrella: £37.00 per hour
About the Role
As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of Council Tax functions across the shared service. You will manage a team across remote settings, ensuring high performance, compliance, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the collection of over £200 million in revenues
Lead on the administration and collection of Council Tax
Support End of Year and Annual Billing for the 2026/2027 year
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and auditors
Provide support to the Assistant Director for Revenues & Benefits Shared Service

We are seeking a confident and experienced professional who can demonstrate:
Relevant management experience in Revenues
Strong knowledge of Council Tax legislation
Proven leadership and team management skills across diverse operations
Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities
IRRV Technician qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
