We're seeking a proactive and experienced Council Tax Officer to join our dynamic team for a 3-month assignment. This role is heavily focused on telephone-based customer interaction, supporting residents with Council Tax billing, registration, and the application of discounts and exemptions in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:- Handle a high volume of inbound calls relating to Council Tax queries
- Accurately register new accounts and apply relevant discounts and exemptions
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Council Tax legislation
- Maintain detailed records and update MRI/Academy system accordingly
- Proven experience as a Council Tax Officer
- Strong working knowledge of Council Tax legislation
- Confident telephone manner and excellent communication skills
- Experience using the Academy IT system
