Crynodeb

Are you an agile teacher ready to lead Year 3 to Year 6 classes and maintain high academic momentum?

Do you possess the versatility to seamlessly cover demanding subjects like Upper KS2 Maths or SATs preparation on short notice?

Could you embrace the professional challenge and rewarding flexibility of supply teaching across diverse Leeds primary schools?

If the answer is a decisive YES, then Randstad Education is actively recruiting exceptional Key Stage 2 (KS2) Supply Teachers to manage daily, short-term, and PPA cover requirements within our extensive network of partner schools throughout the Leeds area.

This is an ideal opportunity for experienced teachers (or confident ECTs) who thrive on variety and prefer a working pattern that avoids the out-of-hours commitments of a permanent role. As a KS2 Supply Teacher, you will be the driving force in the classroom , stepping in to deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensuring pupils remain focused on achieving their curriculum objectives, particularly during crucial assessment phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Delivery: Expertly deliver provided lessons across the full range of the KS2 curriculum, including upper primary Maths, English (reading, writing, grammar), and foundation subjects.

  • Maintain Learning Pace: Ensure the structure and pace of learning are maintained, especially when covering classes engaged in specific projects or test preparation (e.g., Year 6 SATs).

  • Behaviour Management: Utilise established classroom management strategies to foster a calm, respectful, and focused learning environment for pupils aged 7-11.

  • Efficient Reporting: Complete efficient handover notes for the class teacher, detailing student engagement, work completed, and any immediate concerns or observations.

  • School Integration: Quickly adhere to and implement specific school policies and routines, acting as a professional and positive presence from the moment you enter the school.

What We Require from You
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential (UK or recognised equivalent).

  • Demonstrable recent experience teaching across Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to Year 6) is highly advantageous.

  • Strong subject knowledge across KS2, with the confidence to deliver challenging concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Outstanding professional reliability and adaptability, you must be ready for bookings often made on the morning of the requirement.

  • Willingness to travel across various locations within the Leeds authority area.

  • A current, enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or readiness to apply for a new one).

What Randstad Education Provides
  • Premium Pay Rates: Excellent daily remuneration, paid weekly through a secure, transparent payroll system (PAYE).

  • Diverse School Exposure: Build professional relationships and gain insight into the operation of a wide range of Leeds schools.

  • Personalised Support: Access to a dedicated, local consultant who understands your availability and career preferences.
