Contract: Temp-to-Perm (with strong potential to become permanent)

This specialist SEN school supports young people aged 11–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, sensory processing challenges, and social communication difficulties.
The school provides a creative, hands-on curriculum designed to help students gain confidence, independence, and practical skills for adult life.
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging, accessible lessons across KS3–KS5, focusing on creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills.
Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities, ensuring all students can achieve success.
Encourage curiosity, resilience, and teamwork through projects involving materials, design processes, and technology.
Work collaboratively with the wider teaching and therapy team to support each student’s educational and emotional development.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates progress and effort as much as outcomes.
Person Specification / Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
Experience teaching Design & Technology (KS3–KS5 preferred).
An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, autism and additional learning needs.
Resilient, patient, and creative in your approach to teaching and engagement.
Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
