Summary

Role: Teacher – Primary Trained for Secondary-aged Students (SEN School)

Area: Grateley, Hampshire
Contract: Temp-to-Perm (with strong potential to become permanent)

Hours: Full Time
Pay: Dependent on experience (paid via PAYE)

This specialist school caters to young people aged 11–19 with a primary diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and a range of associated needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, complex behaviours and school refusal.
The school prides itself on its nurturing ethos, with the aim of helping students flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

In this role you will:

Teach in a specialist setting for secondary-aged students (KS3/4) while using your primary-trained background.

Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students’ individual profiles and needs.

Build positive relationships and help students feel valued, safe and supported.

Contribute to a specialist curriculum and therapeutic environment, collaborating with colleagues across teaching and support roles.

Be part of an inclusive and ambitious team working to prepare students for adult life.

Person Specification / Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.

Experience working with children (preferably ages 11–19) and an interest in autism or complex additional needs.

Strong classroom presence: resilient, patient, positive and nurturing.

Ability to adapt teaching to meet complex needs, using a range of strategies and supports.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, committed to helping young people thrive.
