Crynodeb

Are you ready to be the anchor in a young person's educational journey?

Do you want a role where your empathy and initiative genuinely change lives every day?

Could you thrive in the dynamic, fast-paced environment of a Birmingham secondary school classroom?

If you answered YES to these questions, then Randstad Education has the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking dedicated and passionate Secondary School Teaching Assistants (TA) to join our partner schools across the Birmingham area.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive, supportive, and effective learning environment for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. This is a fantastic chance to gain invaluable experience, whether you're looking for a long-term career in education or are an aspiring teacher seeking classroom insight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Class Teacher in managing the classroom, preparing materials, and ensuring a tidy and organised space.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or those who need extra guidance to access the curriculum.

  • Assist in monitoring student progress, documenting observations, and feeding back to the teacher.

  • Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging situations, ensuring a safe and productive atmosphere.

  • Supervise students during non-contact time, such as lunch breaks, and on school trips or enrichment activities.

What We Look for in You
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school setting (but all relevant experience considered).

  • A genuine passion for education and the development of students aged 11-16.

  • Patience, resilience, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the student population.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) or a degree is desirable, but a can-do attitude is essential.

  • A fully enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

What Randstad Education Offers
  • Competitive Daily Rate: £90 - £100 per day

  • Flexible Work Options: Choose from full-time, part-time, supply, or long-term contract roles.

  • Dedicated Consultant: Your own Randstad Education specialist to support you every step of the way.

  • Free CPD: Access to online Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses to enhance your skills.

  • 'Refer a Friend' Scheme: Earn a generous referral bonus for recommending qualified colleagues.
