We are now looking for an Advanced Practitioner (Occupational Therapist) to join our Access and Information Team, the first point of contact for residents seeking support from Brent’s Adult Social Care services. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior professional role where you can influence practice standards, mentor colleagues and deliver meaningful, person-centred outcomes across the borough.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality practice and effective service delivery. You will:
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and supervision to OT Assistants and unqualified staff
- Deliver direct OT assessments in residents’ homes, focusing on enabling independence and improving wellbeing
- Support staff in developing professional confidence and best practice across the team
- Manage complex cases and make evidence-based recommendations on community equipment, adaptations and rehabilitation
- Promote positive risk-taking and solution-focused practice that supports residents to remain independent
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Adult Social Care, Health and other agencies to deliver integrated, person-centred support

This is a hands-on leadership position that combines clinical excellence with coaching, supervision and service development responsibilities.

We're looking for someone with:
- A recognised Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Significant post-qualification experience working with adults with physical disabilities and older people
- A strong understanding of Adult Social Care legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding responsibilities
- Experience providing supervision or mentoring to other staff or students
- Knowledge of community equipment, adaptations and reablement approaches
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage complex situations, balance priorities and promote collaborative working across multidisciplinary teams

You will be a confident practitioner with a passion for empowering individuals to live as independently as possible.

Why join us?
We know people achieve their best when they feel valued. At Brent, you’ll benefit from:
- Up to 33 days annual leave (depending on length of service) plus bank holidays
- Excellent pension with generous employer contributions (LGPS)
- Hybrid and flexible working options available for most roles
- Supportive family-friendly policies for parents, guardians and carers
- Health and wellbeing support including access to eye test support and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
- Financial support including education sessions, childcare deposit loans and season ticket loans
- Travel perks such as Zipcar access, affordable parking nearby, a Cycle to Work scheme and great onsite facilities
- Learning and development opportunities to help grow your career
- Access to My Brent Rewards with exclusive discounts on shopping, travel, leisure and entertainment

Additional benefits include:
- £5,000 ‘golden hello’ for OTs new to Brent (upon completion of probation)
- £3,000 annual retention payment for eligible frontline staff and managers (PO2 – PO7)
