Crynodeb
To be responsible for a clinical caseload and to develop and provide a specialist paediatric occupational therapy service, undertaking assessment, interpretation of assessment results, evaluation, treatment, and advice. To carry out assessments and evaluate the childs occupational performance through, e.g. the use of standardised and non-standardised assessments, observation, interview with parent or carer and/or parent and teacher questionnaires. To develop, plan and implement specialist Occupational Therapy treatment programme and strategies to enhance the childs ability to perform everyday activities and participate in multiple environments through, e.g. verbal and written advice and recommendations, written advice sheets, individual treatment and/or group therapy. To assess the child's need for small aids and specialist equipment ( e.g. specialist seating, bath aids and toilet aids), advise and recommend/provide appropriate equipment for use at home, pre school and school, in line with service criteria. To review equipment, checking size and suitability as required, including completing appropriate adjustments to suit the child's changin needs in a range of performance contexts. To work autonomously and without direct supervision in a defined clinical area, and will be accountable for their own clinical actions.
