Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Salaried GP to join our friendly, patient-centred practice serving over 13,500 patients. You will provide high-quality care to patients of all ages, supporting their health and wellbeing through management of acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, and health promotion. The successful candidate will build strong, trusting relationships with patients, helping them achieve the best possible health outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to service development, participate in clinical audits, and continuously enhance the care we provide, within a collaborative and supportive practice environment. Clinical Responsibilities The post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of core duties including surgery consultations, telephone and video consultations and patient queries. Other workload may involve visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, reviewing test results, and managing correspondence in a timely fashion. Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care professionals within the organisation. Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients, and in line with current practice disease management protocols, develop personalised care plans and management strategies. Provide counselling, health promotion, and lifestyle advice to support prevention and self-management. Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate. Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards using the clinical computer system (e.g. EMIS Web). Collect data for audit purposes, and support practice participation in Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Enhanced Services. Compile and issue computer-generated prescriptions in accordance with best practice guidance. Prescribe safely, generically, and in line with national and local guidance. Support continuity of care through teamwork, and effective communication. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Other Responsibilities within the Organisation Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of the multidisciplinary team. Supervise and support junior doctors, medical students, and other learners if applicable. Contribute to the development of computer-based patient records and improvements in data quality. Participate in clinical audits, research, and service evaluations. Be aware of and comply with all relevant practice policies and procedures, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and infection control. Contribute to quality improvement, governance, and risk management processes in line with CQC standards.
