Stockperson / General Farm Worker - Taunton, Somerset - £27,000
The Job:
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Stockperson / General Farm Worker to join our client's farm team near Taunton. The role offers a great opportunity for someone with livestock or poultry experience who is passionate about animal welfare and keen to develop a long term career in modern, high standard farm operations.
You’ll be involved in a wide range of daily farm activities, working closely with the management team to maintain excellent welfare, hygiene, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily care, feeding and monitoring of livestock
- Support the maintenance of high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity
- Operate feeding systems and carry out cleaning, bedding, and general farm tasks
- Record daily checks, production data, and any welfare issues accurately
- Assist with vaccinations, egg collection, and movement of livestock as required
- Maintain machinery, equipment, and farm buildings in good working order
- Work as part of a small, dedicated team to achieve production targets
- Follow all company policies, health & safety procedures, and farm assurance standards.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience working with livestock (poultry or other farm animals) preferred
- Good understanding of animal welfare and farm hygiene
- Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence required
- Flexible attitude towards working hours, including weekends.
The Package:
