Job Title: Quality Manager
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Location: Northfield
Department: Quality
Responsible for: Quality Engineers & Inspectors

Job Role
To maintain the quality and reliability of all products delivered to customers, whether internal or external.
To maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards on site to ensure compliance is achieved and always maintained.

Duties to be Performed - Quality
* Liaise with and support customers, suppliers, and the plant operations team on daily and long-term quality concerns and continuous improvement opportunities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures.
* Implement strategic internal quality systems to drive continuous improvement and meet customer expectations.
* Maintain compliance with quality standards TS16949 and ISO14001.
* Support with Internal Part Submission Warrants (PSWs), ensuring timely and accurate submission and documentation approval.
* Assist the Project Team in the integration of new projects into mass production.
* Use statistical techniques to analyse metrics and identify concerns or trends for improvement.
* Apply problem-solving tools such as 8D, Fishbone Diagrams, and Brainstorming to address quality issues.
* Manage the Quality Department within budget, ensuring departmental objectives are achieved.
* Collaborate with other departments (Manufacturing, HR, Finance, Materials) to meet overall business requirements.
* Ensure suppliers meet product and service expectations and support their ongoing development.
* Communicate daily with Operations regarding current quality issues and objectives to foster a team-based approach to resolution.
* Work with Engineering and Program Management on new model introductions using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
* Maintain departmental succession planning and ensure team members receive appropriate training.
* Recommend new equipment to enhance quality and production efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with environmental procedures, legal requirements, and sustainability goals.
* Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities.
* Ensure packaging waste obligations are met within regulatory timescales.

Duties to be Performed - Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
* Communicate daily with Operations on H&S concerns and targets to ensure a team-driven approach to compliance and improvement.
* Chair and promote monthly H&S Committee meetings, encouraging awareness of roles, responsibilities, and actions for site safety improvement.
* Record and report all H&S data to measure site performance.
* Implement strategies to ensure ongoing site safety and legal compliance.
* Support all H&S compliance needs of the business.
* Ensure all appropriate Risk Assessments are completed, communicated, and signed off by affected employees.
* Maintain compliance documentation for ISO and TS standards.
* Support and carry out workplace assessments, such as for noise and ergonomics.

Qualifications & Experience
* Significant Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with Tier 1 automotive customers is desirable.
* In-depth knowledge of quality systems and their implementation.
