The Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative Design Technology Teacher, specialising in Food Technology, to join a Good-rated secondary school in Birmingham from January 2026. This is a full-time, long-term role delivering engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You’ll plan and deliver lessons that combine creativity and technical skills, helping students to develop confidence in food preparation, nutrition, and design principles. The role includes full classroom responsibilities — from lesson planning and assessment to maintaining a safe and inspiring practical learning environment.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and skilled teacher with a passion for practical, hands-on learning. You should be:

- A qualified teacher with QTS (applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed)
- Experienced in teaching Food Technology at KS3 and KS4
- Confident in managing a practical classroom environment safely and effectively
- Creative, organised, and able to adapt lessons to suit all learners
- A positive team player committed to high standards and student progress
