About the RoleThis is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You'll work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning support, assist with personal care, and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support across the curriculum.
  • Assist pupils with SEN in developing life skills and using IT resources.
  • Support personal care needs including dressing, toileting, and feeding.
  • Help maintain pupil motivation and engagement.
  • Prepare learning environments and resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Liaise with parents and carers as part of the educational process.
  • Participate in school trips, planning meetings, and training sessions.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, BTEC, NNEB or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to use IT effectively in a learning environment.
  • Willingness to undertake personal care duties.
  • Enhanced DBS check for Regulated Activity.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of behavioural strategies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and inclusive practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
