Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support

Oldbury, Sandwell
Start Date: November 2025 | Full-Time | Long-Term (Academic Year)

“Every child deserves someone who believes in them.”

Are you a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role?
Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs to help them reach their full potential?

We’re delighted to be working with a welcoming 3-form entry Primary School in Oldbury, who are seeking a Teaching Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with Autism who is non-verbal.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting in November 2025 — and your consistency, compassion and creativity will play a vital role in helping this child thrive both socially and academically.

The school itself is a wonderful environment: friendly, inclusive, and deeply committed to making a difference. We’ve partnered with this school for several years, and many of our staff have gone on to secure permanent roles there — a true testament to how supportive and welcoming the team is.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the class teacher to:
✅ Support the child’s individual learning plan and personal development
✅ Use patience and creativity to engage the pupil in a way that works best for them
✅ Foster a calm, safe and encouraging learning environment
✅ Communicate effectively with staff and parents to ensure consistent support

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) – particularly Autism

  • A warm, positive and patient approach to learning

  • The ability to follow direction from the class teacher while showing initiative

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Reliability, resilience and a genuine passion for helping children succeed
