Please note this is a Fixed Term Contract until April 2027Working hours: 21 hours per week (Flexible approach Mon to Wed work pattern)Interview Date: To be confirmedThe Salvation Army Chalk Farm Corps is a busy Church and Community Centre within the vibrant borough of Camden. We are looking for someone to assist with the successful delivery of our community welcome space and support our community programmes. This role is pivotal in allowing us to serve the needs of the local community. The right candidate must have experience working with people and a keen interest in supporting our community and building relationships with the people who attend our programmes with colleagues and volunteers.Key Responsibilities:The post-holder will play a significant role in assisting the successful delivery of mission to the local community. Our Community Assistant will be responsible for helping the church to live out its mission to ‘love God and love others’, meeting human need, providing a friendly, efficient and professional service within a welcoming Christian environment. This role provides practical support to our welcome space initiative and will aid the delivery of our community programmes.The successful candidate will have:Have proven interpersonal skills, previous experience in a similar environment and be able to work with staff and/or volunteers, work on their initiative and in a team, enjoy working with people, and be able to deal tactfully with the public. It is essential that the candidate understands the community's needs and possesses proficiency in English. Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army.
