Our client is a leading manufacturer of aerosol and bag-on-valve products, serving diverse sectors including personal care, healthcare, veterinary, automotive, and more. They're offering a unique opportunity for a Graduate Chemical Engineer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain practical industry experience and exposure to high-impact projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing HAZOP & Process Safety Support
- Assist in planning and documenting Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies
- Contribute to the development of HAZID and HAZOP procedures and documentation
- Support risk assessments and follow-up actions
- Prepare and update P&IDs, site maps, and layout drawings
Engineering & Technical Projects
- Support process development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Help prepare technical documentation, reports, and SOPs
- Collect and analyse data for engineering and safety studies
- Collaborate with Engineering, Technical, and HSE teams on practical solutions
General Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to regular project updates
- Proactively engage in learning and professional development
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
- Basic knowledge of chemical hazards and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- A genuine interest in process safety and industrial operations
Desirable:
- Previous experience with HAZID/HAZOP (e.g. through a placement)
- Understanding of process safety in a manufacturing environment
