We are seeking a skilled and motivated technical professional to join our support team as an IT Service Delivery Specialist. This role provides support to both the National Institute for Health Research Co-ordinating Centre (NIHR CC) and the wider School of Healthcare, Enterprise and Innovation (HEI).
Who are we?
HEI is home to research focused businesses tackling major issues in healthcare and hosts part of the NIHR CC. The NIHR funds, enables and delivers world-leading health and social care research that improves people's health and wellbeing and promotes economic growth.
This role sits within the application support team who are responsible for the software and digital services that underpin the work of NIHR CC and also offer wider support to the HEI school. What will you be doing?
You’ll play a key role in supporting our digital operation resources, in particular our research grant application system used by the NIHR CC and HEI. You will provide frontline technical support, maintain and test application functionality and contribute to continuous improvement. Playing a key part in our service delivery team, ensuring our digital platforms run smoothly and meet user needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborate with our users and third-party suppliers to design & document solutions to facilitate the provision of research grant activities. This will involve analysis, testing, configuration, and maintenance of applications in support of these research activities.
Provide frontline support, managing incidents to resolution or referral whilst keeping detailed logs of incidents in our support systems.
Working with colleagues to deliver innovative solutions that support our research goals.
Ensure our services are user-focused, reliable, and aligned with evolving research needs.
Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be able to manage their own workload under pressure and be able to adapt to evolving processes and priorities.
It may also be advantageous if you have experience of using the following techniques / tools:
Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel etc)
Full product lifecycle development
Workflow driven development
HTML
Software testing disciplines and practices
Third Party engagement / management
