Description
The Family Information and Advice Officer (Scale 6) plays a crucial role in supporting families by providing essential information and guidance tailored to their specific needs. This position requires a compassionate and resourceful individual who can connect with families from diverse backgrounds and communicate effectively about the array of services available to them. As a Family Information and Advice Officer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that families are empowered with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate various challenges, including education, health, and social services. You will serve as a trusted point of contact, collaborating closely with families to understand their unique circumstances and providing relevant advice and support. Additionally, you will work to improve family engagement within the community by organizing workshops, outreach programs, and resource fairs that promote access to key information. By fostering relationships with both internal departments and external organizations, you will be instrumental in building a network of support for families. This is a dynamic role that demands not only strong interpersonal skills but also the ability to analyze information critically and provide clear, actionable advice to help families in their journey towards stability and wellbeing.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality information and advice to families on a variety of issues, including education, health, and social services.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of local resources and services to assist families effectively.
Conduct assessments to understand the specific needs of families and provide tailored support and solutions.
Organize and facilitate workshops and information sessions to educate families about available services and community resources.
Build strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and other stakeholders to enhance the support network for families.
Respond to inquiries from families through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings.
Maintain accurate records of family interactions and follow-up actions to ensure continuity of support and service delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience in providing information and advice in a family support or related context.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by families and knowledge of relevant local resources.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data management systems.
Empathy, patience, and a commitment to supporting families in a professional and approachable manner.

Pay Per Hour: £18.92
