We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Family Link Cultural Support Worker fluent in Turkish and English to support children, young people and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
As a Family Link Cultural Support Worker you will act as a cultural and linguistic bridge, ensuring families can fully access services and feel supported throughout their child’s journey.
The Family Link Cultural Support Worker role is key in developing meaningful relationships with communities, promoting inclusivity and strengthening trust. You will provide advice, advocacy, emotional and practical support, while liaising with professionals across health, education and social care.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Family Link Cultural Support Worker include:
• Provide Specialist Advice: Deliver tailored support to Turkish-speaking families, ensuring services are accessible and responsive
• Act as Cultural Bridge: Support communication and understanding between families and professionals
• Community Engagement: Build meaningful links with community groups to strengthen outreach
• Family Assessments: Conduct needs assessments and coordinate appropriate services
• Offer Support: Provide emotional and practical support through home visits and regular contact
• Advocacy and Advice: Help families access welfare rights, external services and resources
• Maintain Records: Ensure accurate, timely record-keeping in line with standards
• Work Collaboratively: Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and team activities
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Fluent in English and Turkish, with excellent communication and listening skills
• Previous experience in family support, key working or similar role
• Proven ability to work sensitively with culturally diverse families
• Understanding of child safeguarding and protection procedures
• Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
DESIRABLE
• Fluency in an additional language
• Previous experience in palliative care, disability support or bereavement work
• Background in community engagement or outreach
• Experience of needs assessment and care planning
• Knowledge of cultural perspectives on death, dying and bereavement
