Class 2 Day Driver - 2-man crew
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Shift times: Between Shifts typically between 06:00 - 17:00
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour which will increase to £15.63 per hour after 12 weeks
We're looking for full-time, Class 2 Day Drivers to join us at our site in Bury St Edmunds. This role is temp to perm for the ideal candidate and will involve client deliveries across East Anglia alongside installing various products from Peloton bikes to fridges (full training will be given) as a result, the individual must be happy with manual handling and working alongside a driver's mate throughout the day. The shifts will be Monday to Friday where you will start around 6am and typically work between 10 and 12 hours.
What you'll do on a typical shift:
- Multidrop deliveries between customer sites across East Anglia as far up as Boston and as far South as Chelmsford.
- Working alongside a driver's mate, you may need to use a pump truck or a sack barrow, as well as handballing items from the truck.
- Taking items to a designated area of the customers premises and installing the item - typically this will just involve plugging it in and making sure it works but all training will be given,
- Adhere to all customer site security and procedures
- Safely operate your vehicle adhering to business standards.
- Using a handheld scanner and completing relevant paperwork
- Vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with VOSA.
What you need to succeed with our client
- Must have a multidrop experience!
- Must be happy working as part of a 2 man crew, where you will be alongside a drivers mate throughout the day.
- Must be polite, presentable and professional
- HGV2 licence, Digital Tachograph Card, Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- No more than six penalty points on your licence and no DD, DR, IN or CD endorsements.
- A valid CPC and Digital Tacho card.
- Multidrop delivery experience.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK road network.
- A can-do attitude
