Support, Educate and Nurture.

We 2 exciting roles available for passionate and dedicated support workers who would like to transfer their skills to the classroom. We have a full time and part time position to support young people with complex learning needs in the classroom and also during lunch times and breaktimes in a specialist school.

The role is to work within a specialist school supporting young people with complex needs who are aged 3-19. with a wide variety of additional needs including complex medical needs, Autism and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Experience and understanding SEND is necessary and knowledge of skills such as alternative communication techniques and manual handling would be beneficial.

With a team of support staff and the Teacher you are required to safeguard and to protect the welfare of young people.

Requirements for the role
- Experience of supporting young people or adults with SEND and complex needs
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong positive behaviour support skills
- Comfortable to deliver personal care if required
- A caring and positive approach
- Flexible and adaptable
- Care qualification or degree is desirable but not a must

Working hours are school hours 8.30- 3.30. We are looking for both full time and part time support workers.

We will offer training and support in the position, everyone who works for us is required to complete Safeguarding Training. Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis.
