As a dedicated special school, we support students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, currently welcoming 105 learners at our main site. Our school follows a primary model, tailored to meet each student's individual educational needs while nurturing their social and personal development. The curriculum is thoughtfully structured to allow students to explore a wide range of subjects, encouraging curiosity and engagement. We are committed to delivering high-quality education and care. Further details about the roles:
Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will:
• Take responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated group of children
• Lead and manage additional adults within the classroom
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver tailored schemes of work that meet individual learning needs in this busy sometimes challenging but rewarding role
• Maintain assessment records and report on pupil progress in line with school policy
• Work closely cooperatively with on-site professionals including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to support student development

• Enjoy working with students with special educational needs
• Demonstrate a positive, encouraging attitude that promotes independence
• Show warmth, resilience, and a sense of humour
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Be up to date with current curriculum developments and educational initiatives
• Be caring, trustworthy, and committed to teamwork
• Be flexible and open to ongoing training
We welcome applications from both primary and secondary sectors, including Early Career Teachers interested in special education. Full training will be provided for those wishing to specialise in SEN teaching.
