Booker Park School is part of the Vale Federation of Special Schools, alongside Stocklake Park School, which provides secondary and post-16 education. Currently, Booker Park supports 237 primary-aged pupils with a wide range of complex needs, including profound and multiple learning difficulties, as well as severe and moderate learning challenges. Nearly half of our students also have a diagnosis of autism spectrum condition.
We are proud to offer exceptional facilities designed to enrich our pupils’ learning and development. These include:

• A computer suite
• A hydrotherapy pool
• A soft play room
• An observational mirror room
• A dark room
• A sensory theatre
Our purpose-built outdoor spaces feature:
• A Multi-use Games Area (MUGA)
• A climbing castle
• A pirate ship
• A sensory path
All outdoor areas are accessible to every pupil, supporting inclusive play and exploration. Conveniently located near bus and train links, Booker Park also offers on-site parking for all staff, making commuting easy and stress-free.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will:
• Take responsibility for the education and welfare of a designated group of children
• Lead and manage additional adults within the classroom
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver tailored schemes of work that meet individual learning needs in this busy sometimes challenging but rewarding role
• Maintain assessment records and report on pupil progress in line with school policy
• Work closely cooperatively with on-site professionals including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists to support student development

• Demonstrate a positive, encouraging attitude that promotes independence
• Show warmth, resilience, and a sense of humour
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Be caring, trustworthy, and committed to teamwork
• Be flexible and open to ongoing training
We welcome applications from both primary and secondary sectors, including Early Career Teachers interested in special education. Full training will be provided for those wishing to specialise in SEN teaching.
