It’s a space where people arrive with nerves, questions, emotions and our team is there to greet them with a smile, a cuppa, and a calm, friendly presence.You’ll be leading a team to support visitors before and after their visit, answering questions, offering reassurance, signposting to further support, and helping create a safe, welcoming environment.This is a flexible, people-focused role that might suit you if you’re looking to:Work around other life commitmentsBe part of a supportive team without needing to commit to full-time hoursShifts are available across 7 days, including one weekend per month.If you’re someone who thrives on variety, enjoys being around people, we’d love to hear from you.What You'll Be DoingGreeting visitors and helping them feel welcome and informedChatting with children and families, helping ease anxieties about the visitSignposting people to local and national support servicesWorking closely with prison staff and other partnersHandling sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalismProviding guidance and support to colleagues and volunteers, modelling best practiceMonitoring and reviewing service delivery to maintain high quality standardsActing as the main point of contact for partner agencies on specialist issuesContributing to staff training, supervision, and reflective practice sessionsWho We're Looking ForYou don’t need to have worked in a prison before, we’ll provide training.
