Location: Elizabeth Barracks, JRDF, Pirbright, Surrey, GU24 0DT
Salary: £28,842 per year / £14.74 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week
Shift Pattern: 5 days over 7 (including alternate weekends)
Shifts: Early (06:00–14:00) & Late (12:00–20:00)
About the Role:
Aramark UK is hiring a Sous Chef to support our culinary team at Elizabeth Barracks. You’ll lead kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, helping to produce up to 1,000 meals per shift. If you’re organised, thrive under pressure, and passionate about food, this could be your next step.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead kitchen operations when the Head Chef is away.
- Prepare meals to recipe specifications and allergen guidelines.
- Manage food production, stock levels, and minimise waste.
- Receive and store deliveries using FIFO method.
- Maintain hygiene standards through deep cleans and staff training.
What We're Looking For:
- UK residency for the past 3 years.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Ability to pass full security vetting & DBS checks.
- Relevant culinary qualification + 2 years’ experience as Sous Chef or Senior CDP.
- Willingness to complete a trade test during the interview process.
