Role Purpose
Using the relevant company and customer purchasing and inventory systems, as Materials Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that all materials are ordered and effectively managed within the required timescales, meeting internal and external customer requirements, specifications and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Internal and external customer and supplier liaison, ensuring correspondence surrounding departmental tasks is communicated appropriately
-
Process all duty free and duty paid deliveries into the warehouse, ensuring documentation is controlled and maintained in line with departmental processes

Process orders and returns for both internal and external customers, ensuring documentation is controlled and filed appropriately
-
Manage all documentation and processes in line with HM Revenue & Customs, CAA and company requirements

Manage and maintain all customer portals, including stock submissions and confirmations upon receipt
-
Keep the operation informed on product issues and set up par levels
-
Keep HMRC updated on inventory status and ullage notifications
-
Investigate delivery failures and implement corrective actions
-
Carry out stock takes as necessary and use information to manage ordering levels and prevent shortages
-
Liaise with operations regarding menu and product changes promptly
-
Ensure any quality issues are resolved with minimal customer impact
-
Ensure period-end stock takes are completed and entered onto SAP
-
Ensure all goods are received in line with due diligence and compliance targets
-
Audit deliveries to ensure compliance standards are met as defined by the Vendor Rating System
-
Maintain security processes to safeguard equipment, personnel and stock

Undertake “housekeeping” activities as required
-
Design, monitor and review plans to implement changes to customer requirements
-
Receipt deliveries and ensure correct stock rotation to prevent product expiry
-
Ensure packing operatives have the correct stock available

What you’ll have
Essential

Experience of leading a team of employees within a fast-moving and changing work environment such as FMCG, manufacturing or logistics

Ability to deliver within set targets with an understanding of cost and control management

Ability to solve problems, generate innovative solutions and make justified decisions that influence key stakeholders

Strong planning, organisation and delegation skills, with attention to detail and a logical approach

Ability to multi-task in a pressured environment and work to tight deadlines
