Holy Brook School is seeking a proactive Premises Officer to join our dedicated team. This is a hands-on role where you will ensure our school site is safe, secure, and well maintained to provide the best environment for our pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Opening and securing the school buildings, including managing alarms.
Carrying out routine health & safety checks (fire safety, legionella, CoSHH, asbestos, etc.).
Ensuring the site is tidy, safe and well presented at all times, including gritting in winter.
Undertaking general repairs and basic maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, flat-pack furniture, etc.).
Supporting school operations, such as pupil transport routines and porter duties.
Liaising with contractors and supporting small building projects during school holidays.

We are looking for someone who:

Has practical DIY and general maintenance skills.
Can work flexibly and use their initiative to prioritise tasks.
Is diligent, organised, and committed to health & safety best practices.
Can work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, visitors, and contractors.
Is willing to undertake training relevant to the role.

This role requires a good level of physical fitness and flexibility, including occasional evening, weekend, or school holiday work for projects or emergencies.

Holy Brook School is a primary special school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience of site maintenance, able to work on own initiative, be fun, caring and empathetic to the needs of our pupils.

You will need to have held a full clean, driving license for at least 2 years – you maybe required to drive the school minibus.
