Process Engineer Hants – £55,000 to £75,000 depending on experience + Benefits – Hampshire, UK

The Role

Are you a skilled Process Engineer with experience in gas / hydrocarbon processing? Do you have the expertise to lead energy transition projects within a high-hazard COMAH site?

One of the UK's most strategic energy storage operators is looking for a Process Engineer to join their expert engineering team in Hampshire.

You'll support the site's ongoing transition to low-carbon operations, taking a key role in delivering hydrogen storage, compression, and capture projects. Working across project design, operations support and future development, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a major underground gas storage facility.

If you're ready to shape the future of gas storage and play a vital role in the UK’s energy transition, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of NGL and hydrogen-related projects
• Support upgrades to existing systems, ensuring readiness for future energy demands
• Provide day-to-day technical support for operations and maintenance teams
• Develop project scopes, schedules, and cost-effective delivery plans
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations and COMAH requirements
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers
• Monitor and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets within the engineering function
• Identify and implement energy efficiency improvements

The Company

We operate one of the UK's largest underground gas storage facilities, designated as an upper-tier COMAH site. As part of an internationally owned energy business, our site plays a critical role in balancing the National Gas Transmission System. We're investing significantly in our infrastructure to meet future energy challenges, including the transition to hydrogen.

The Person

• Degree-qualified in Chemical, Process or similar engineering discipline
• Chartered Engineer (or working towards it) with a minimum of 5 years in a senior engineering role
• Experience in oil and gas, energy, or hydrocarbon sectors
• Proven track record in delivering projects from concept through detailed design
• Strong knowledge of safety and regulatory standards (e.g. COMAH, HAZOP)
• Skilled in process engineering software (e.g. HYSYS, AutoCAD)
• A team player with excellent problem-solving abilities and leadership skills
