Your Role as a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant

  • Delivering consistent, individualised classroom support


  • Supporting transitions, communication, and regulation techniques


  • Adapting learning activities under guidance from the class teacher and SENCO


  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction


  • Assisting with behavioural and emotional needs where necessary


    What We’re Looking For
    • A graduate (2:1 or above preferred) in Psychology, Education, or a related field


    • A genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs


    • Calm, compassionate, and resilient, especially in challenging situations


    • Strong communication and collaboration skills


    • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous (including voluntary roles)

          • Someone with a genuine interest in SEN and child development


          • Calm, compassionate, and resilient – especially when faced with challenging behaviour


          • Excellent communication and teamwork skills


          • Any experience working with children or young people (including voluntary work) is a bonus
