Manage time effectively under the direction of the recovery co-ordinator. Assist in the preparation of the recovery unit every morning. Ensuring all equipment is calibrated and checked as per manufacturers instructions. Preparing the recovery bay for patient use. To perform under the direct supervision of a registered practitioner (ODP/RGN) as a safe competent practitioner to provide specialised care in the recovery unit. To maintain effective lines of communications throughout the areas of theatre services and between medical, nursing, administrative staff and management. To comply with existing systems (Theatre Man) for the accurate recording, collation, monitoring and feedback of appropriate information and initiating remedial action as necessary. To ensure the appropriate and efficient use of supplies and develop good housekeeping methods, ensuring stock levels are maintained. To be receptive to change in the department To complete internal training packages and to meet set objectives To complete appraisal with designated team leader. Record, interpret and act on patient observations and act accordingly in line with training given. Comply with the trusts moving and handling guidelines/infection prevention guidelines at all times. To ensure that the needs of relatives of patients are met whilst they are in the department, Act in a professional manner at all times Take responsibility for keeping all mandatory and specialised training current and up to date.
