Apprentice IT Support

Location: Perth, with some presence in South Queensferry
Contract: Fulltime, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, Hybrid working available after 3 months employment

BEAR Scotland is a leading road maintenance and management service provider in Scotland, maintaining and improving Scottish Trunk Roads including bridges and structures through some of the most scenic, but challenging, parts of the country.

Formed in 2000, BEAR Scotland is an alliance of three highly successful organisations who are prominent in the United Kingdom roads sector – Vinci, Jacobs and Breedon – joining together to provide trunk road network management and maintenance solutions to Transport Scotland.

We rely on strong digital systems to support our teams — from office staff to engineers working on site. We’re now looking to bring in a motivated IT Apprentice to join our team and build a career in IT Support while gaining a nationally recognised qualification – A Modern Apprenticeship in Digital technology: IT Support (SCQF Level 6).

Roles and Responsibilities:

Setting up and maintaining user accounts and access permissions
Installing, configuring, and updating hardware & software
Troubleshooting user issues
Supporting laptops, printers, and mobile devices
Learning the basics of networking and IT security
Helping roll out new IT systems and updates across the company
Providing excellent customer service to colleagues at all levels
Documenting solutions and maintaining IT records

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

You don’t need previous IT Work experience – we’ll provide the full training. We’re more interested in your attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.

Ideally you will:

Hold (or be working towards) National 5’s / Highers, ideally including Computing, Business or Maths
Have a strong interest in Technology and problem-solving
Be organised and able to manage your time effectively
Enjoy helping people and communicating clearly
