Technical Service Manager (216jc) – Redhill, Surrey – Excellent Package

Your Next Mission

If you are a UK Armed Forces veteran with technical leadership experience, this role offers a unique opportunity to apply your skills in service management, problem-solving, and leadership to a challenging civilian technical role. You will take ownership of delivering effective support for a Government communications programme, working in a fast-paced environment where your ability to adapt, plan, and act decisively is key.

What You’ll Do
• Lead the management of technical support cases for a Government communications programme, particularly for the Royal Navy.
• Coordinate multi-discipline teams to ensure effective issue resolution.
• Plan and oversee service visits, ensuring efficiency and quality of support.
• Manage communications with Government stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation to improve service delivery.
• Track trends in support cases and drive improvement initiatives.
• Support and train technical staff, including onboarding new team members.
• Assist with the launch of new services and manage related documentation.
• Oversee spares management and support procurement processes.

Skills & Experience They Value
• Technical background in communications, electrical/electronic systems, or IT networking.
• Leadership experience in technical service or engineering environments.
• Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Experience working with high-security environments and the ability to obtain and hold DV Security Clearance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to travel and work across diverse environments.

Ideal for: Veterans with technical trades in Royal Navy Comms sector and would suit either CIS or Weapons Engineer/Maintainer or similar from the Army or RAF looking to transfer skills into civilian service leadership role as the incumbent is being promoted within the company, hence this role!
