Job Opportunity: Health, Safety and Wellbeing Assistant
Location: Plymouth City Council
Contract: 1 October 2025 – 27 February 2026 (Maternity Cover)
Hours: 37 per week | Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30
Plymouth City Council is seeking a proactive and organised Health, Safety and Wellbeing Assistant to provide short-term maternity cover within the Customer and Corporate Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a dynamic HR function and contribute to a safe, healthy, and supportive working environment across the council.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the delivery of health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across the organisation
Assist with risk assessments, incident reporting, and compliance monitoring
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with council policies
Liaise with internal teams to promote wellbeing and ensure safe working practices
Provide administrative support to the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team
✅ Ideal Candidate:
Strong organisational and communication skills
Experience in health and safety administration or HR support
Familiarity with workplace wellbeing initiatives
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture
