Development Support Officer
Location: Edinburgh
Contract Type: Temporary - up to 3 months with possible extension
Salary: £17ph - £20ph DOE
Brightwork are delighted to be working with an exciting public sector client based in Edinburgh to recruit a Development Support Officerfor a varied and interesting role.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong administrative background who enjoys working autonomously, staying organised, and supporting a dynamic team across a broad range of tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining continuity and operational effectiveness during a period of personnel change.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day-to-day will be diverse, and you'll work closely with both the Head of Development and the Business Support team. Tasks will include:
• Procurement Support: Assisting in writing and tendering short-term project contracts
• Financial Tracking: Supporting budget monitoring, cost centre tracking, and reporting.
• Marketing Project Coordination: Managing small marketing collateral projects in progress, liaising with internal teams and external designers.
• Fundraising Support: Assisting in the creation of content and materials to support fundraising partnerships.
• Executive Administration: Providing direct administrative support to the Head of Development.
• Business Continuity: Supporting the wider Business Support function during a transition period, as directed by the Business Manager.
Who We're Looking For
We're after a proactive and reliable administrator with:
• Proven experience in a varied administrative or support role
• Excellent organisational skills and a calm, methodical approach
• Confidence working independently and managing multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise across internal and external teams
• A flexible attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
• Experience within a public sector or not-for-profit environment is a bonus but not essential.
