Specialist Teaching Assistant (Specialist Assistive Technology Resource Officer)

Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.

About the Team

The SEST Team provide specialist support to meet the educational and developmental needs of children and young people with a sensory loss within the home, early years and educational settings across Lincolnshire.

About the Role

The Specialist TA role requires the successful applicant to be a lead sensory loss practitioner, taking responsibility for developing the skills of other setting-based Teaching Assistants, Teachers and families around the county who are working with children with a sensory loss.

Ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will have 5 years relevant SEN experience and a TA qualification with strong personal skills in building excellent working relationships with staff across a range of settings as well as parents.

They will be a confident user of technology with a willingness to learn about specific technology to support learners with sensory needs. The role will involve working alongside other members of the technology team to assess, select and implement identified pieces of assistive technology into the educational setting.

Significant experience of working with children with a sensory loss and a willingness to undergo further training in this area is essential.

Experience of using Braille and/or British Sign Language (BSL) or, as a minimum, a commitment to learning is also required. In addition, one or more of the following qualifications would be advantageous (but not essential):

A recognised qualification in British Sign Language (BSL)
UEB Braille Certificates
