About The Role:
Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust,is excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced and committed individual to join our dedicated Pastoral Team as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students.
As Deputy DSL, you will:
• Share responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the College.
• Participate in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings.
• Contribute to the assessment of children and young people.
• Provide advice and support to staff on child welfare and protection matters.
• Liaise effectively with external agencies including the local authority and Police.
What We’re Looking for:
We are seeking someone who:
• Is confident and able to build strong relationships with students aged 11 – 18.
• Holds a Safeguarding Level 3 qualification (or is willing to work towards it)
• Has excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Can work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Has recent experience working in a safeguarding role.
