Senior Care Practitioner
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Location: West Bromwich
Overview of the Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Practitioner to take on a pivotal role within their residential home. As a Senior Care Practitioner, you will be responsible for overseeing the home's operations in the absence of the Deputy/Registered Manager, ensuring compliance with current legislation and fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children in their care.
Ideal Candidate:
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) with a commitment to pursuing Level 5 qualifications.
- Have a thorough understanding of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding practices.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate a team.
- Hold excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be capable of managing sensitive situations professionally.
- Exhibit a compassionate approach to care, prioritising the welfare and rights of children at all times.
- Experience in childcare practice adhering to trauma-informed care principles is preferred.
- Be proactive in managing health and safety standards and compliance within the home.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the home operates in compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations and relevant safeguarding legislation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring best practices are adhered to in direct work with children.
- Oversee care planning and ensure the welfare of children remains the paramount consideration.
- Manage staff training and development in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare for Ofsted inspections and maintain accurate records in compliance with data protection legislation.
