JOB DESCRIPTION
PART-TIME PERSONAL ASSISTANT
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a 21 year old girl from Tonteg. I am bubbly and chatty and always looking to do new and fun things. I have weakness on right hand side of my body and cerebral palsy. I use a walking frame for short distance and wheel chair for long distance. I attend a local college.
I enjoy music and a wide range of activities like arts and crafts, cinema and shopping.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To support me out in the community, encourage my independence and living skills. Your role will also provide respite to my parents.
HOURS OF WORK
11 hours per week
Hours are flexible, days and times to vary and will include weekend work on occasion with prior agreement.
RATES OF PAY
£14.25 p/h
40p mileage
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Out shopping to Cardiff and other local areas
Cinema and out for meals
Crafting and arts at home
Pick me up from college then taking me to an activity
Stay home with me when my parents go out for evening, likely to be on a weekend
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Someone who shares similar interests
An outgoing and easy to get along with person, someone I can have fun with and be comfortable around
Experience isn’t essential, just needs to be the right person
Patient, kind and friendly
You must be sensible and reliable
Full UK driver’s license and car is essential
A non-smoker is preferred
Be flexible with your time
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a four-weekly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
