Part-Time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a 77 year old woman living in Upper Boat on a farm not far from the main roundabout. I have Multiple Sclerosis and my husband is my main support with day to day. We have 2 Border Collies in the house.
I enjoy watching TV, especially football and am an ex-bank manager.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
You will provide me with support within my home, assisting me with daily needs. My husband will be available to help as and when required.
HOURS OF WORK
16 hours per week, usually one to two hours at a time
RATES OF PAY
£15.00 per hour
TASKS WILL INCLUDE
Assisting me out of bed in the morning with the assistance of my husband
Supporting to bath as and when required
Styling my hair neatly and assisting me with dressing
Assisting me with my evening routine – changing into pyjamas
Personal care needs in relation to using the toilet
Using the hoists and follow the manual handling plan that is in place
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
You must have a confident and direct approach in communication
Proactive in situations and be able to problem solve on your own initiative
Must be ok with dogs in the home
Experience using a hoist and safe manual handling techniques
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
