Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a permanent role in Plymouth, offering stable day shifts and the opportunity to work on high-value plant and systems in a supportive team environment.
What's on offer:- Competitive salary (based on experience).
- 37.5 hours per week (7:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday).
- Permanent, full-time role with a well-established industrial plant.
- Excellent training and upskilling opportunities.
- Conduct routine and reactive maintenance on electrical, ICA, PLC, and combustion systems.
- Diagnose and resolve faults across plant equipment and control systems.
- Carry out preventative maintenance plans and ensure timely work completion.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives across electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Maintain high standards in health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Use CMMS systems for work order management and reporting.
- Liaise with other departments to support operational efficiency.
- Proven experience in an industrial or heavy plant setting.
- Solid background in electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Familiar with maintenance of pumps, burners/furnaces, mills, and chemical plant (desirable).
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Ability to calibrate and fault-find on complex instrumentation systems.
- Flexible, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Awareness of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems and variable speed drives.
- Understanding of ISO9001 for calibration and ISO14001 environmental standards.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, risk assessments, 5S, and KPI monitoring.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
