We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join the Army Headquarters as the Assistant Head of Information Governance. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading and managing the Army’s Information lifecycle, providing strategic oversight and leadership in all aspects of information governance and use, ensuring the effective use of information to support decision-making within the Army.

As the Assistant Head Information Governance, you will be required to:

Lead the Army Information Governance and Assurance Team; monitor information activities to ensure compliance with legislation and with MOD policy
Responsible for the Army Information Management (IM) Governance programme; developing and executing strategies, delivery of forward look plans, and development of polices and upskilling sessions, pertaining to KIM, Records Management and Data Protection
Lead the modernisation and delivery of an information capability that provides support to IM professionals but also empowers the end user to exploit Microsoft Office 365 products and information and record management tools
Responsible for the information assurance maturity levels across the organisation. Baseline ‘as is’ and create an improvement plan
Act as the Principal Data Protection Authority, promote adherence to Data Protection policy; ensuring all staff across the TLB are aware of their Data Protection responsibilities
As the lead within Army for Data Protection and KIM act as the Top Level Budget (TLB) representative in engagement with Defence up to 2* level
Product Owner of the Army Information Asset Register, ensure the accurate recording all information assets with the TLB and their associated risks
Support the Warning Advisory Reporting Point and MOD Data Protection Officer in investigating data incidents and breaches. This includes providing guidance on incident/breach resolution, along with the actions required to prevent further occurrences
Lead a team of 15 Civil Servants
