About You:

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated educator who is committed to delivering high-quality maths teaching and fostering a love of learning in every student. You will bring strong subject knowledge, a creative approach to the curriculum, and the ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities. With a focus on inclusive education and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in developing mathematical confidence and academic success across our student community.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Qualified teacher status.
• A strong ability to plan the progression of subject-specific skills within individual lessons and across a coherent sequence of lessons.
• Successful experience of teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the Science Department:

The Science Department at Weavers Academy is a well-established and high-performing team, consistently achieving strong outcomes and playing a key role in the success of the school. The team is evenly split across specialisms, offering a rich blend of expertise in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This balance creates a dynamic and collaborative environment where subject knowledge is shared and celebrated.

We are proud of our experienced staff, many of whom have been part of the department for a number of years. Their collective knowledge and commitment to professional development have helped shape a culture of support and progression. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly welcomed and benefit from a wealth of mentoring and coaching opportunities. At the same time, we are keen to welcome ambitious practitioners who can bring fresh ideas and help drive the department forward.

The department follows AQA specifications and is actively involved in a range of enrichment activities, including science competitions and reward programmes that inspire and engage students beyond the classroom. Many colleagues have progressed within the academy, reflecting the strong culture of internal development and career growth.
