We are currently looking for Supported Learning Assistants to provide 1:1 as well as classroom support.
You will be working 4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday). The work is term-time based over 38 weeks per year.
The post-holders will be working as part of an excellent team of Supported Learning Assistants (SLAs) to provide additional learning support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LDD), using a flexible and innovative approach in a range of contexts.
The role involves working with students who experience a range of barriers to achievement and the post-holders will support learners in a variety of curriculum activities and settings. This will include supporting students with intimate care where necessary. SLAs may work with individuals or small groups, as directed by the teaching staff and encourage students to engage with activities or work independently, where appropriate.
Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group and is one of London’s most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year old’s and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and a brand-new technology-focused STEM Centre in 2024. This exciting and innovative new learning environment is located within the grounds of the current college site, so remains convenient for public transport links – it is adjacent to the A316 and just a short walk from Twickenham rail station and a number of regular London bus routes.
Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
