Job Title: Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker
Location: Coventry (with travel across the city)
Contract Type: Full-Time
A long-established women's organisation is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to join its Coventry-based team. This role focuses on supporting women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse, both within the community and across the organisation's services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop tailored support strategies for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
- Deliver outreach support through drop-ins, surgeries, and community engagement.
- Develop policies and practice guidelines in line with organisational procedures.
- Stay informed on legislative changes and emerging issues in domestic abuse.
- Build links with existing projects and community services to develop joint initiatives.
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation processes to assess service impact.
- Facilitate workshops, group sessions, and training for professionals and community groups.
- Improve identification and referral pathways into the service.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborative work.
- Support and collaborate with trained volunteers and community champions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly in domestic abuse settings.
- Strong understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and families
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
- Empathetic, resilient, and non-judgemental approach
- Ability to speak a BME, Eastern European, or African Caribbean language.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
- Willingness to travel across Coventry as part of the role.
