Hours: Mon – Fri, 37 hours per week, 8:15am - 4:15pm Monday - Thursday, 8:15am - 3:45pm FridayContract: Term Time Only Plus Insets (Maternity Leave Cover up until April 2026)Start Date: As soon as possibleInterviews: Friday 3rd October 2025Bridge Learning Campus is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic SALT HLTA to join our Primary SEND Department and to support the progression of our pupils on the SEND register. This is a full-time role maternity cover from a date to be agreed at the interview – but as soon as possible.
We are looking for an ambitious member of staff who is keen to contribute to the campus by bringing expertise and enthusiasm into the SEND Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an all-through setting that actively promotes professional development. We have an expectation that all staff work to a high standard, have a conscientious approach to their work and are able to use their initiative. Key responsibilities:Undertake screenings, directed by the SALT/SENDCO to assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to develop interventions and strategies to support.
Provide verbal feedback to students and staff in relation to progress and achievement.
Within an agreed system of supervision, plan challenging teaching and learning objectives and to evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate.
Monitor and evaluate student responses to learning activities through a range of assessment and monitoring activities against pre‐determined learning objectives.
Provide objective and accurate feedback and written reports as required on student achievement, progress and other matters ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence; this can include contributions to EHCPs, Pupil Passports, Annual Reviews and Pupil Learning Plans.
Maintain accurate records of support.
Deliver training and mentoring for other support staff as appropriate under the direction of the SALT/SENDCO.
Hold regular team meetings with other appropriate staff.
Deliver whole class sessions relating to SALT, e.g. Vocabulary sessions.
To plan and deliver bespoke learning activities for the child/ren under the guidance of the SENDCO/SALT.
To deliver the statutory provisions related to a child’s EHCP for communication and interaction, under the guidance of the SENDCO/SALT.
To make a significant contribution for/at meetings with outside professionals linked to a child’s EHCP; for example Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Visual Impairment Teacher, Teacher of the Deaf.
To attend and contribute to liaison meetings with SALT for core referrals.
To provide 1:1 support for assessments for identified children with EHCPs or significant SALT needs.Job requirementsHLTA qualification (or be awaiting confirmation of it)5 GCSEs at grade C/Level 4 or above or equivalent including English and Maths
At least 2 Years’ experience working with children in education.
Experience working with specific types of SEN
Ability to undertake a range of teaching activities with confidence, working effectively with individual pupils, groups of pupils and whole classes
Ability to contribute to assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
