The post holder with have the following specific role To provide highly specialised Environmental Control services to adults and children with complex disabilities in order to improve their independence, quality of life, safety and participation whilst working autonomously and without direct supervision, and being accountable for own professional actions Manage the design and development of custom electronic AT devices. Provide and maintain appropriate equipment as required by patients to meet their needs (as defined by the service specifications). Adapt equipment as required to meet the individual and changing needs of the individuals. Provide these services directly to a wide region and manage the provision of services throughout the commissioned region To independently manage and complete refurbishment of equipment to high standard To manage stock within the equipment store including stock levels, tidiness with consideration for health and safety and infection control. To provide expert and complex technical input around the acceptance testing, evaluation and provision of these devices. Provide the service in an independent, unbiased, cost effective and accountable way. To have a key role in development of the service and be responsible for implementing changes within the setting and monitoring standards of practice. Provide advice and training in assistive technology to professionals within region as well as patients, carers and family members Promote the development and application of assistive technology products. To be responsible for aspects of service policy, planning, organisation, development and delivery. To ensure resources are managed and monitored each month in order to be available to meet client need throughout the financial year. To work collaboratively and strategically with the Service Lead to meet organisational objectives and to develop service policies and procedures.
