Location: Car Pound (Renault London), London Borough of Tower Hamlets Contract: 6 October – 30 November 2025 Hours: 35 per week | Monday–Friday, 9:00–17:00 Pay: £18.24 PAYE / £23.75 Umbrella | Inside IR35 ️ Application Deadline: Monday 22 September 2025 at 17:00

Tower Hamlets is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Parking Permit Officer to support the delivery of a high-profile Estates TMO project. With recent staff changes, this role is critical to maintaining service continuity and ensuring residents receive a responsive, professional permit service.

Key Responsibilities:
Process parking permit applications submitted online and by post

Provide specialist advice to customers and colleagues on complex or discretionary cases

Investigate and resolve challenging applications, liaising directly with applicants

Identify and report potential fraud, ensuring compliance with Council policy

Maintain accurate records and digital filing of permit-related documentation

Handle customer enquiries, including irate or distressed callers, with empathy and professionalism

Raise purchase orders, reconcile payments, and follow financial procedures

Support audits and contribute to service improvements across Parking Services

What We’re Looking For:
Experience in rule-based administrative environments

Excellent written, verbal, and IT skills (especially Microsoft Office)

Strong organisational and time management abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of parking permit schemes and local authority processes (desirable)
