Our diversity is our strength, with more than 130 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community, and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community.

With exceptional schools, lush green spaces including Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives, and world-renowned institutions such as St Thomas's Hospital, Lambeth offers an enriching and dynamic environment.

About the Role:

Do you want to develop your knowledge, experience and skills in a dynamic and people-focussed London electoral services team?

Lambeth is looking for a well organised and experienced individual to support strategic and operational electoral registration activities, the conduct of elections and delivery of our ongoing service improvement programme.

You’ll need excellent analytical, operational and problem-solving skills to meet a range of daily challenges, including year-round electoral registration, the conduct of elections and referenda and continuous service improvement.

You’ll have a proven track record in electoral registration and elections or suitable transferrable skills and experience.

Additionally, you must be able to work flexibly, particularly at election times when significant evening and weekend working is required.

About you:

You’ll be a thorough and proactive individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, along with a good eye for detail. You must be able to demonstrate:

  • The ability to deliver high quality work within strict deadlines.
  • An ability to work well as part of a dynamic and professional team.
  • Ability to use information technology and data to achieve excellent results.
  • Knowledge/understanding of best practice and quality assurance in service delivery and customer care.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet changing requirements at peak times.

About us

Lambeth is a large, diverse and socially engaged inner London authority with over 230,000 registered electors. It includes vibrant districts such as Brixton, Clapham, Streatham and the South Bank.

Key service goals for 2025/26 include:

  • Completion of annual electoral canvass and statutory postal votes renewal exercise.

  • Preparation for full council elections in May 2026.

  • Rollout of new, cloud-based, elections management software (EMS).

  • Maintaining readiness for elections and referenda at short notice.

  • Completion of our integrated electoral data project.

  • Building on outreach and engagement successes to encourage greater democratic participation.

As a member of our team you’ll have an opportunity to develop your career in an energetic setting with daily opportunities to learn and grow. We look forward to hearing from you!
